The Grammys 2020 Best Dressed Women - A Hand Tailored Suit

The Grammys 2020 Best Dressed Women

At the Staples Center in Los Angeles on the 26 January 2020, Alicia Keys hosted the 62nd Annual Grammy Awards ceremony, which recognises the best recordings, compositions, and artists from 1 October 2018 to 31 August 2019.

It was an exciting award show! The singer-songwriter and flautist, Lizzo, received eight nominations, followed by Billie Eilish and Lil Nas X who received six nominations each. The first artist since Christopher Cross in 1981 to win awards in four major categories, Eilish won for Record of the Year, Album of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best New Artist.

Let’s get into the Grammys best-dressed women of the night.

Alicia Keys

American musician, singer and composer, Alicia Keys, wore an Atelier Versace fitted one-shoulder sparkly silver gown, covered in sequins with a slit up to her thigh. The right shoulder was structured with embellishments and jewels, accentuating Keys’ small waist.

Lizzo

American singer-songwriter, rapper, and flautist, Lizzo, who has been hot on the scene this year, wore a white strapless Versace corseted gown embellished with jewels with a thigh-high split. She accessorised with sparkling diamonds, strappy white sandals, and a fur stole.

Gwen Stefani

American singer, songwriter, actress, and record producer and host of The Voice, Gwen Stefani, has been on the music scene for years (since the 90s), starting out as the lead singer of the band, No Doubt. On the red carpet, she wore a structured, strapless cream Dolce & Gabbana minidress. The embroidered detailing includes white shells. The dress has a fitted strapless bodice, an exaggerated bell-shaped mini-skirt, and she finished the look with simple pearl drop earrings and matching taupe-cream thigh-high pointed toe leather boots.

She and her husband, Blake Shelton, also performed at the Grammys. Take a look at her fairytale princess gown!

Chrissy Teigen

The American model, television personality, and author has been married to husband John Legend since 2013. She accompanied him on the red carpet this year wearing a Yanina Couture gown in vivid orange with large organza sleeves and a peplum bodice and plunging neckline with a flowing tulle, pleated skirt and thigh-high slit (very popular this awards season). She finished the look with a matching clutch and dramatic earrings.

Dua Lipa

English singer, songwriter and model, Dua Lipa, was channelling Gweneth Paltrow in the 90s with her sleek two-piece Alexander Wang dress. The white satin top is both structured and draping with thin bra-strap sleeves and the matching skirt is fitted through the hips, down to the floor. She wears a simple diamond necklace and matching bracelet and safety pin earrings. She has two-toned hair with blue eyeshadow to finish the look.

Ariana Grande

American singer, songwriter, and actress, Ariana Grande, wore a custom Giambattista Valli dress on the red carpet. The dress was a massive grey tulle number with a fitted bodice and giant skirt. She accessorised with long grey silk gloves and big diamond earrings.

Later in the night, she also changed into another grey ensemble, a custom Schiaparelli design with a crystal-embellished neckline.

Jameela Jamil

British actress, radio presenter, model, and writer, Jameela Jamil, is known for her role on The Good Place, but at the Grammys, she was there to support her long-time partner, musician James Blake. Jameela wore a dress straight from the Georges Chakra runway made of layered ribbons and tulle. The dress had a fitted bodice, was in the ballgown style, with a mesh panel to make the dress appear to be simultaneously a ballgown and a minidress! She opted to go without accessories to keep the focus on the dress itself.
