The Screen Actors Guide Awards (or SAG) are awards given by the Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) to celebrate outstanding performances in film and prime-time television. The two committees, one for film and the other for television, nominate the winners and it has been known as a precursor to indicate success in the Academy Awards, which will be presented in February. Without further ado, let’s get into the best-dressed men of the night.
Brad Pitt
It has already been a big year for Brad Pitt with his win for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role for Once Upon a Time…In Hollywood. He wore a two-piece black tuxedo (minus the bow tie) with pointed wide lapels and high-waisted tailored trousers.
Joaquin Pheonix
This year, Joaquin Pheonix won for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role for his role in Joker. Joaquin opted to wear the same suit he wore to the Golden Globes, making a statement on the environmental impact of fashion and he noted he will wear the same suit all award’s season. I’m sure designer Stella McCartney is happy that Joaquin chose her black tux design with contrasting shawl lapels.
Leonardo DiCaprio
Leonardo DiCaprio was nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture for Once Upon a Time…In Hollywood. He wore a classic Armani tuxedo and black Oliver Peoples sunglasses.
Andrew Scott
Everyone’s favourite Fleabag ‘hot priest’, Andrew Scott wore a dusty pink suit with a matching light rose button-up with a black bow tie and black leather shoes. The buttons on his two-piece single-breasted notched lapeled jacket contrasted in black.
