The summer wardrobes are out as the summer weather has finally arrived. As the linen suits and brighter colour ensembles are proving popular to wear, celebrities are still using the opportunities to dress up smart in tailored ensembles when suitable - and over the last week, we've spotted some great pieces. Here are our top 5 tailored ladies' looks of the week, starting with:
Ciara
American singer Ciara was spotted wearing a beige MUGLER two-piece suit with a very modern take to it. The jacket includes wide padded shoulders made even sharper through the wide peak lapels as it is fastened just below the waist. The jacket includes two double jet pockets below the cut-out section which follows round to the back also, where thin straps are left to ensure the jacket is still one piece. With four black buttons on each jacket cuff and the sleeves almost level with the bottom of the jacket, the jacket is almost level with the top beige part of the trousers. Sheer parts are included on the thighs to create the illusion of the parts below being completely separate from the top half of the trousers. With the trousers being cut in a straight leg, the monochrome outfit is just so sharp and modern.
Duchess Of Cambridge
The G7 Summit has been taking place in Cornwall and in attendance was Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, and during a reception at the Eden Project, she wore a white Alexander McQueen tailored A-line white dress. Cut in a double-breasted style for the top half of the dress, it featured two white buttons on the waist and peak lapels with subtle padded shoulders at the top. A 4-button formation was featured on the sleeves with them being noticeably smaller for a subtle finish. The fabric drapes naturally from the waist into to create a soft, wavy hemline falling to the knee, a lovely sophisticated finish.
Dr. Jill Biden
U.S First Lady Dr. Jill Biden accompanied Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge to a primary school in Cornwall during the G7 Summit which took place in the county. Upon this visit, Jill Biden wore a cream pleated Akris dress with a zip fastening on the front that was styled underneath a L'AGENCE pink woollen blazer. The blazer featured a rounded hem on the front, padded shoulders, peak lapels and two flapped curved pockets situated just below the waist. It also includes a single-button fastening which matches the style on the jacket cuffs also. The length of the jacket doesn't take attention away from the lovely pleats at the bottom of the dress, but its bold fuchsia shade makes for a great summery ensemble.
Emma Bunton
British singer Emma Bunton attended the morning show at Heart radio (Tuesday 8th June 2021) wearing a vibrant pink two-piece ME+EM suit, worn over the top of a white shirt with silver buttons. The seams of the jacket were defined with contrast stitching to elevate the monochrome suit, as well as down the sides of the wide-legged trousers. A single vent is included on the back, along with patch pockets on the front, narrow notch lapels and a single-button fastening. With a curved hem down the centre-front of the jacket, it doesn't affect the strong impact of the suit, particularly as a summer ensemble too.
Dilone
Model Dilone wore a very chic outfit attending the premiere of the film 'The Novice' at the Tribeca Film Festival in which she is starring in. The attire was made up of a black dress styled with an oversized black/dark navy blazer from Prada. The blazer with its notch lapels and two buttons on the front also included the details of flapped pockets and smaller matching buttons on the cuffs. With the oversized style, the shoulders down below her natural shoulder line to cause the sleeve hem to finish halfway down her hand. It's an overall subtle tailored look to perfectly match the occasion and an outfit that is a classic.
