The TV BAFTA Awards 2020 - A Hand Tailored Suit

The TV BAFTA Awards 2020

The TV BAFTAs looked a little different this year due to the pandemic and social distancing. The event which happened on the 31 July filmed from a studio in Television Centre, London was hosted by the British director and comedic actor Richard Ayoade. The new date was a reschedule of the original 17 May 2020 event and happened virtually to celebrate the importance of television during Covid-19. Let’s take a look at some of the winners!

The event had various hosts and television personalities, hosting at a podium in front of a large screen where the winners could give their speeches. It has been the first major award show to air during the pandemic.

Tim Minchin, the Australian comedian, actor, writer, musician, composer, lyricist, and director, created a comedic song to open the occasion. Check it out below.

It’s not a usual write up about award shows as there was no red carpet, but at least everyone wasn’t in their tracksuit as Tim Minchin predicted in his opening song. Which winner was your favourite? Have you enjoyed these TV programmes during the lockdown? Let us know in the comments.
