In the week that restrictions were further eased in the UK. and indoor activities are now safely allowed, there has also been a few celebrity events which have occurred, including the MTV Movie & TV Awards - and that means glamour and most definitely, some eye-catching looks. So here at A Hand Tailored Suit, we have rounded up our 5 best tailored ladies' looks of the last week.
Emma Stone
During the premiere of Disney film of 'Cruella' in Los Angeles this week (Tuesday 18th May 2021), Emma Stone attended the socially distanced premiere of the film in a black two-piece Louis Vuitton ensemble with a pussybow white blouse underneath. Starring as the infamous Disney villain Cruella de Vil herself, the actress' jacket featured small notch lapels, two large patch pockets at the bottom with a smaller patch pocket near the top. It is a 2-button fastening as the patch pockets are designed with a metallic chain-style brooch. Emma Stone's trousers are floor-length with a centre crease to make the look sharp. The white blouse softens the impact of the suit but overall creates a very chic look.
Marsai Martin
Attending the premiere of 'Cruella' in L.A was also actress and producer Marsai Martin, who turned up wearing a very stylish black-and-white houndstooth Nina Ricci two-piece suit with matching hat. The jacket itself is long in the body as it's fastened over a pair of pegged style trousers which finish just below her ankles. On the jacket are two flapped pockets sitting below her waist, a curved V-neck and three black buttons for the fastening; but what's a great little detail of this ensemble is the twist feature near the top of her back. The houndstooth cloth is manipulated to give the jacket extra texture, as the pattern itself is sectioned into smaller individual patterns to causes the houndstooth to angle in different directions: such a bold suit worn by Marsai Martin on the red carpet.
Megan Fox
Actress Megan Fox was spotted in a vibrant monochrome look for her birthday this week as she wore a two-piece red Alex Perry suit. Her jacket with peak lapels and a single-button fastening also included two flapped pockets below the item's tailored waist as the classic welt pocket is also included. With structured shoulders, the shine of the jacket is then slightly toned down by the matte finish of Fox's floor-length flared trousers, lifted off the ground from her red platform heels. With extra fabric-covered buttons on the cuffs and a red lining, it's a suit that's very much on trend with monochrome this year - but also such a vibrant and stylish modern look worn by Megan Fox.
Rachel Lindsay
Covering the latest on the red carpet at the 2021 MTV Movie and TV Awards in Los Angeles (Sunday 16th May 2021), attorney and media personality Rachel Lindsay wore a two-piece white ensemble from MAË PARIS. Consisting of a cropped jacket and high-waisted trousers which drape to the floor, Lindsay's jacket included three buttons on the sleeve cuffs, wide notch lapels, wide collar and padded shoulders. The trousers are designed with double pleats coming from the waist to create extra natural drapes within the attire and overall, make a sophisticated red carpet look for Rachel Lindsay which glistened in the light.
Corbin Reid
Actress Corbin Reid attended the New York premiere of TV series 'Run The World' this week (Sunday 16th May 2021) in which she plays the character Sondi, and for the event, wore a two-piece plaid check suit from MASTANI. Fastened with a single button, Reid's jacket also included a narrow shawl collar on just the one side as the sleeves were pushed up to her elbows and the hem of the jacket finished with a straight edge. Her trousers are definitely a statement as they are completed with a sharp centre crease in this wide leg silhouette. As the sides of the trousers flare out to also create a sharp line to the suit, it's a stand-out look from Corbin Reid to be included in our best looks of the week.
