Tennis competition Wimbledon has a history stretching all the way back to 1877 when the inaugural Championships were held at the All England Croquet and Lawn Tennis Club. The first week of this year's two-week Championships drew to a close yesterday. Wimbledon is one of the oldest and most respected sporting occasions on the calendar, but celebrities and royalty flock there in their droves not only to watch the supreme skill of the athletes but to show off their court-side sartorial best despite the perils of our British weather. Let's take a look at some of the celebrities and outfits that caught our attention at week one of Wimbledon.

Socialite Poppy Delevingne chose a classic white shirt, enormously wide cream palazzo pants, and a matching cream pinstripe blazer for her appearance at Wimbledon.
