Duck egg blue is a colour that can be very underestimated for the gorgeous effect it can have. The soft hues of the blue/green shade blend perfectly with the soft lines that a bespoke suit can involve; but even with a sharp jacket hem or sharp flapped pockets, it really transforms the colour. One of our customers Chloe, ordered herself a custom two-piece duck egg blue suit, and we are to discuss it in more detail.
Constructed from a wool blend cloth with a sharkskin weave pattern, the cut was single-breasted and the style was quite casual thanks to the notch lapels. A buttonhole is embroidered onto the lapel for extra detailing, whilst the pockets on the front were the classic welt and two angled flapped pockets for that subtle sharp look. The jacket would fasten with two buttons on the front, whilst the centre front leads down into a soft curve rounding into the hem.
The buttons on the front of the jacket were the same style on the cuffs, inner jacket and trousers with a dark brown horn design. The buttons were sewn on with a lilac purple thread and on the cuffs, the last buttonhole was a contrasting choice and embroidered in a emerald green. The combination of green, purple and duck egg blue may have a certain winter feel to it, but it can perfectly encapsulate the Spring colours too.
The inner parts of the bespoke jacket and trousers were lined in a sharp silver satin paisley and was a perfect choice to complement the hues of the duck egg blue. The jacket was finished with a piano lining and extra interior pockets included, also cut in the same paisley print. The lining was binded with a satin light blue, acting as another subtle statement detail in the outfit, whilst the flash cuffs would act in the same way.
The trousers were a cropped length which really matched the cool, casual vibe of the duck egg blue suit. With a front zip fastening, the trousers were a tapered fit with a hint of a subtle centre crease down the front and turn-up cuffs. It's a suit that after the wedding, can have the jacket and trousers worn separately too!
