Golden Globes 2021: The Golden Ladieswear Moments

The Golden Globes this year certainly delivered on the glamour that we've all missed! After sharing some of our award-winning looks from the night overall, we at A Hand Tailored Suit noticed even more glamorous looks from the night that just have to be shared! Here are more of the golden ladieswear moments from this year's ceremony, starting with the other co-host of the night:

Amy Poehler

Co-host of the night Amy Poehler hosted the ceremony from the award's usual spot in Beverly Hills, and her first look of the night as a custom Moschino jacket-style mini dress. The sparkling black attire featured a structured shoulder line as the matching black belt was fastened to create a subtle A-line silhouette to bottom of the dress. Metallic buttons were a statement detail on the front and on the cuffs as the sequined ensemble was a great first look of the night for the host.

Rosamund Pike

Winner of Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy Motion Picture for her role in the film, 'I Care A Lot', actress Rosamund Pike delivered drama with her look too on the night. Wearing a red tulle dress from Molly Goddard, Pike's dress was full of volume, shape and movement. Gathered panels in the dress are noticed thanks to the black detailing included, and with all the sheer layers involved in this dress to create said volume, it was definitely a fun look on the night for the winning actress.

 Viola Davis

Nominated for Best Actress in a Motion Picture for her role in 'Ma Rainey's Black Bottom', actress Viola Davis made a statement on the night in a LaVie by CK gown. The vibrant one-shoulder piece with volume in the sleeves and shape at the bottom of the gown was made from fabric in Cameroon, where designer Claude Kameni was raised. The motifs are personal, and Viola Davis looking amazing in the garment truly had a visual, strong impact on the night.

 Andra Day

Actress Andra Day was a winner on the night wearing a stunning silk Chanel gown as she was awarded Best Actress in a Motion Picture for her role in the film, 'The United States Vs. Billie Holiday'. With the bottom half of the dress made up of layered silk for gorgeous movement, the bodice featured cut-out details and also many embroidered elements. The factors combined with the silhouette of the gown, it was another vintage glamour look on the night which Andra Day looked glamorous in indeed.

Jane Fonda

Actress Jane Fonda re-wore a crisp cream silk suit on the night as she was the recipient of the Cecil B. DeMille Award, recognised for her lifetime achievement in the world of entertainment. Her jacket includes flapped pockets which are outlined in a contrast fabric as are the sleeve cuffs too which adds extra, subtle glamour to the suit. It is fastened with a single fabric-covered button and with a contrast facing for the lapel into the collar which is turned up, Jane Fonda shows why suits are always made to be worn over and over again for such prestigious events.

Julia Garner

'Ozark' actress Julia Garner was nominated for her role in the show in the category of Best Supporting Actress in a Series, Mini-series, or Motion Picture for TV, wearing a 1920's inspired ivory V-neck Prada gown. The gown made of crepe de chine was embellished with crystal and stone embroidery on the front and back, the black being a striking contrast to the neutral ivory colour. On the back of the gown appeared a V-shaped line also, emphasising the vintage silhouette with gorgeous drape which suited the actress incredibly.

 Celeste

Singer Celeste was nominated for Best Original Song with her song 'Hear My Voice' and on the night, wore a Gucci multicoloured velvet and sequin gown paired with silk lime green gloves as she attended her first virtual awards ceremony. The singer dazzled as the gown's waist was embroidered with black sequins, outlining the sequined striped design that falls into an overlapping diamond design at the hem. The gown is a perfect example of styling subtle with glamour and just like other stand-out looks on the night, Celeste epitomised a vintage, showstopping glamorous outfit.

 Cynthia Erivo

'Widows' and 'The Outsider' actress Cynthia Erivo attended the awards ceremony in style, wearing a structured fluorescent green dress designed by Valentino. Made from scuba and with a brighter shade of green piping strengthening the silhouette of the dress, it was certainly a modern take on a red-carpet look; but how amazing it looked! The actress wore leather white gloves to add a touch of elegance to the ensemble, creating such a striking look in which Cynthia Erivo conveyed such confidence. Just watch how it moves!
