Golden Globes 2021: The Golden Menswear Moments - A Hand Tailored Suit

Golden Globes 2021: The Golden Menswear Moments

The Golden Globes this year certainly delivered on the glamour that we've all missed! And when it comes to award ceremonies, we at A Hand Tailored Suit are always on the lookout for the sharpest of suits worn on the night. After sharing some of our award-winning ladies' looks from the night, here's some of the men's looks we think are award-winning.

Justin Theroux

Actor Justin Theroux was one of the award presenters on the night, rocking his Saint Laurent black velvet jacket paired with skinny jeans, a very smart/casual look for the ceremony. The jacket was fastened with just the one button as the classic features of the notch lapels and flapped pockets were subtle in the design. On the lapel is a brooch to match the actor's chain necklace underneath the crisp white shirt collar: Justin Theroux looking sharp on the red carpet and on stage.

Nicholas Hoult

Nominee for Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy TV Series for his role in 'The Great', actor Nicholas Hoult looked ready for the ceremony in a Giorgio Armani number. The velvet jacket was finished with flapped pockets, satin peak lapels and the matching fabric-covered buttons in a double-breasted form. The edges of the front trouser pockets also matched the lapel material which, as the actor wore a crew neck top underneath, it was a lovely little finishing touch to Hoult's tuxedo attire.

Tahar Rahim

Actor Tahar Rahim was nominated for Best Actor in Drama Motion Picture for his role in, 'The Mauritanian' and on the night, he sported a stunning blue double-breasted Louis Vuitton suit. Worn on top of a dark roll neck knit, the jacket included wide peak lapels with a slanted breast pocket and double jet pockets. The black buttons on the front and cuffs are a lovely contrast to the luxury blue cloth, a smart tailored look on the night for the actor.

'Law & Order' actor Christopher Meloni was also in attendance at the ceremony, appearing on the red carpet wearing a two-piece blue suit from Armani. With peak lapels, thin jet pockets and the essential sharp centre creases on the trousers, the actor's suit has a subtle check pattern on show, giving the suit extra edge. Meloni also wore a light blue shirt featuring a wide collar,  the matching pocket square and a navy silk tie: a tailored blue ensemble that looks great for an award ceremony, but can also work very well as office attire.

Karamo Brown

American TV host Karamo Brown looked dashing in his Burberry double-breasted tuxedo as he hosted coverage of the awards. His teal green jacket was made with thin peak lapels that work well with his shoulderline, along with black fabric-covered buttons on the front and the sleeve cuffs. These matched the black tailored trousers with centre creases that finished above the shoe, and with the all-important black bow tie to finish off his look, Karamo Brown definitely looked ready for the glamorous night ahead.

Christian Slater

The actor Christian Slater was also spotted wearing green on the night in a two-piece all-green ensemble from Canali. Styled with a white shirt and grey tie, the green suit was designed with notch lapels and brown buttons on the front and sleeve cuffs that are picked out well with his choice of shoes. With a grey buttonhole on the lapel to match the tie, the look was finished with a simple floral pocket square to convey a lovely tailored look on the actor that would be perfect for a Spring/Summer wedding.

Jackson Lee

Son of director Spike Lee, Jackson Lee attended the Golden Globes in a Gucci double-breasted suit accompanied with a green kimono-style jacket on top. As an ambassador for the ceremony this year, Lee's jacket was designed with a satin lapel that worked perfectly with the appearance of the jacquard jacket, finished with a rich red silk trim. A black double-breasted tuxedo is always a great choice for an award ceremony, but Jackson Lee's jacquard jacket is the extra finishing touch we love.

 Jared Leto

Actor Jared Leto attended the ceremony virtually in a 70's-inspired blush pink/brown two-piece suit with an accompanying open collar crepe de chine shirt. Nominated for Best Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture for his role in 'The Little Things', Leto's suit was a two-button fastening with wide peak lapels and patch pockets. As the attention is brought to the suit from the big orchid brooch on the lapel, the trouser's centre creases bring attention to the flared cut and floor-length hem. Padded shoulders in the jacket complete the suit that definitely made and completely suits Jared Leto.
