Grammys 2021: The Gentlemen of the Red Carpet - A Hand Tailored Suit

Grammys 2021: The Gentlemen of the Red Carpet

The Grammy Awards 2021 continued the award season very well as it was once again delivered from the main stage in Los Angeles, California, with some high-profile names in virtual attendance. On the 14th March, we saw the Grammy's being awarded to some very talented names in the musical world, and alongside the awards were some very glamorous looks worn by those in attendance! We at A Hand Tailored Suit have already picked out a few of our favourite ladies' red carpet looks from this year's Grammy Awards: now it's time for gentlemen of the red carpet, starting with:

Trevor Noah

Actor and comedian Trevor Noah was the event's host, and his red carpet two-piece tuxedo was one of the classic looks on the night. His double-breasted black tuxedo from Gucci featured the classic details of wide peak satin peak lapels, satin buttons on the cuffs satin double jet pockets and soft structured shoulders. The trousers were tailored with the signature sharp centre crease as the host paired the look with a crisp white shirt made with a standard collar and covered buttons. The black tie and silver brooch were the perfect finishing accessories for the host's introductory evening attire.

One of the performers of the night, actor Kendrick Sampson looked the part in a timeless cashmere two-piece Giorgio Armani suit. The tapered trousers with a thin satin stripe down the edge was worn with a shawl collar jacket made in black velvet. The velvet looks more effective as the jacket is fastened with one button to create an 'X' shape on the front. Extra details include double jet pockets on the front, a four-button cuff on the sleeves and welt pocket. The satin band collar on Sampson's black shirt adds to the subtle glamour of this tailored red carpet ensemble.

Harry Styles

One of three Gucci looks on the night for the British singer, Harry Styles took home a Grammy for his song 'Watermelon Sugar' as it won Best Pop Solo Performance. This first look comprised of a green/yellow Glen check tweed jacket, worn with brown velvet trousers and a pink knitted vest with a V-neck. The jacket itself included wide notch lapels with a curved finish matching the hem, a single button fastening and thin pockets. The trousers are a flared style as the pink check knit is tucked into the waistband, completing this clashing outfit that definitely was a stand-out on the night. The fake purple feather boa blends in lovely with the pastel knit, as the feather boa was a consistent accessory for the singer's other looks: the second being a two-piece leather outfit with a green feather boa, the third being an oversized mustard yellow jacket with check tweed trousers and a black feather boa.

FINNEAS

American singer/songwriter FINNEAS was awarded two Grammy's on the night - Record of the Year and Best Song Written for Visual Media for his songs 'Everything I wanted' and 'No Time To Die' respectively - and on the red carpet, he wore a crisp pale pink two-piece Gucci tuxedo. The defined details on the jacket are the black wide peak lapels and three flapped pockets on the front. A black satin strip runs down the side of the tuxedo trousers, whilst the jacket slightly short in the arms allows the striped white and blue shirt cuffs to stick out. The shirt's collar is wider in length but is perfect for the ribbon tie to complete the musician's attire.

Jacob Collier

Also a Grammy winner on the night was English musician Jacob Collier, taking home the award for Best Arrangement, Instruments and Vocals with his track 'He Won't Hold You' and for the event, he wore a fuschia two-pink Stella McCartney suit with a floral roll neck top. The double-breasted jacket with standard peak lapels, matching pink buttons on the front and cuffs also included thin double jet pockets. Worn unfastened to showcase the vibrancy of the top, the singer's trousers also had centre creases and two pleats either side from the bottom of the waistband. With slanted trouser pockets for an extra cool and casual finish, the look really suited the winning musician.

Mykal Kilgore

Nominee for Best Traditional R&B Performance with his song 'Let Me Go,' American R&B artist Mykal Kilgore virtually attended the event in a double-breasted Kimia Arya grey and silver tuxedo suit. The silk twill ensemble is designed with printed silk with sharp silver panels running through the jacket and trouser sides to break up the artistic pattern. With the pockets and notch lapels also defined features in the double vented jacket, the Cozoro and Swarovski buttons heighten the glamour of the musician's suit. With a Kimia Arya shirt underneath that flares out from the jacket cuff, Kilgore looked sharp in silver.

 Kevin Parker

Kevin Parker of Tame Impala was a nominee at this year's Grammy's for Best Alternative Music Album with the album 'The Slow Rush' and on the night, he wore a pastel retro Versace outfit. The symmetric printed jacket with wide notch lapels, patch pockets and yellow buttons on the cuffs is perfectly matched with the plain bright green flared trousers, as he also wears a printed open-collar shirt. With each item longer in length and the shoulders slightly oversized, it all adds to the retro vibe of his attire as Parker looks ever so cool in Versace.

DaBaby

American rapper DaBaby was nominated for a few Grammy's on the night, including Record of the Year and Best Melodic Rap Performance with his song 'ROCKSTAR' as he wore a floral brocade Dolce & Gabbana two-piece suit. Paired with a forest green fedora with red trim, the suit's jacket includes a shawl collar and flapped pockets edged in black to distinguish the tailoring features. The trousers are tapered at the bottom to enhance the sharp centre creases, whilst the front of the jacket and cuffs are designed with plain black buttons. As he also wears a sparkly beige roll neck, the 'DG' brooch and jewellery heighten the luxury of this suit and with each pocket pattern matched, it makes for an exquisite tailored attire for DaBaby.
