Grammys 2022: The Gentlemen's Red Carpet Attire

The Grammy Awards 2022 continued the award season and red carpet in more glamorous style as some of the most famous faces in the music industry attended for the 64th Annual Grammy Awards in Las Vegas. Occurring on Sunday 3rd April 2022, the iconic awards were handed out and we've selected some of our favourite looks from the gentlemen's red carpet attire.

Singer/songwriter Jon Batiste was a massive winner at this year's Grammy awards, taking home five of the iconic awards in categories such as Best Music Video for his song "Freedom" and his album "We Are" being awarded the Grammy for Album of the Year. His suit was a Dolce & Gabbana ensemble with a black and yellow harlequin check running throughout. The blazer was double-breasted with the peak lapels pattern-matched to disguise them against the cloth. The six buttons on the front were covered in black fabric with two pockets near the bottom and his trousers slim-line with the hem finishing above the ankle.

Songwriter and producer Blake Slatkin arrived on the red carpet in a rather cool, casual attire as he sported a check two-piece suit, styled with a black roll neck knit underneath. The glen check is a combination of black and beige with a subtle pink undertone to it, the reason why the black knit was the perfect choice to pick out this element of the cloth. The jacket's casual style was shown through the notch lapels and two-button front, along with the flapped pockets and rounded edge to the hem. The trousers featured belt loops on the waist, front pockets and were cut with a subtle flare to the hem which covers the tops of his shoes.

Comedian Trevor Noah hosted the event and kept it refined for the red carpet as he arrived in a full Gucci ensemble that consisted of a soft pink double-breasted blazer, paired with slim black tailored trousers and a covered button placket white dress shirt underneath. The silk jacket had a subtle texture to it, designed with wide peak lapels and a six-button front with flapped pockets either side for the classic details. The shoulders were well-tailored with a subtle rounded shape for extra height, whilst the cuffs were completed in the four-button style and the jacket hem with a straight edge, matching the sharp centre crease on the trousers.

The brother duo of T.J and John were winners on the night as they took home the Grammy for Best Country Duo/Group Performance for their song, "Younger Me." On the red carpet, they both looked dapper in their black and gold suits, both wearing shirts underneath and either styling with a chain necklace or black ribbon neck tie under the collar. T.J's gold suit was a double-breasted cut with six gold buttons on the front and peak lapels on the blazer, finished with tapered gold trousers kept sharp with the centre crease and hem on the ankle. John's single-breasted suit was cut from an intricate patterned cloth, the dinner jacket made with contrasting plain peak lapels and a two-button front. Like T.J, John's jacket included flapped pockets on the front and slim tapered trousers also finished in the same style.

FINNEAS

Singer/songwriter FINNEAS was in the running for four Grammy's at this year's 64th Annual Awards including Song of the Year for the track "Happier Than Ever" sung by his sister, Billie Eilish. His suit was also a Gucci number, styled in a three-piece form with a contrasting waistcoat. The black buttoned shirt he wore also had contrasting details through the white narrow collar with no need to wear a neck accessory thanks to the large flower attached to his jacket. Whilst his five-button waistcoat was single-breasted, the jacket was double-breasted with wide peak lapels and strong shoulders, contrasting the silky texture of the suit. The waist of the trousers was pleated. leading down into soft creases on the centre and all the way to the hem, sitting over his shoes.

Devo Brown

TV host Devo Brown was ready for the arrivals on the Grammys red carpet but looked very sharp himself, wearing a magenta pink safari-style jacket and trousers that was slightly toned down through the lighter pink shirt underneath. As a typical safari shirt would include, his jacket featured four pleated patch pockets on the front with button-down flaps on each one. Notch lapels were also included in the design, along with four buttons on the front and sleeve belts near the cuffs. Reinforced stitches can be seen on the lapel, collar and hem of the jacket to give a bit more structure to the monochrome piece, whilst his trousers were tapered with a flat front to complete his sharp casual red carpet outfit.

Jemel McWilliams

Dancer and choreographer Jemel McWilliams showed how to make a red striped suit work on the red carpet, wearing a double-breasted ensemble with eight buttons on the front of the jacket. The peak lapels are sharp and balance out the padded shoulders well, leading down into a four-button cuff on the jacket sleeves. The jacket gives the illusion of being cut in reverse with a double vent brought forward. A classic welt pocket sits on the front whilst the two flapped pockets make for a unique design feature, sitting high or just above the waist whilst aligned with the pattern perfectly. The trousers are tapered to the hem with a subtle break as they sit over the tops of his boots, creating an elongated silhouette.

D-Nice

Wearing a Dolce & Gabbana two-piece suit, DJ D-Nice was also spotted attending this year's Grammy awards. His suit was certainly one that stood out on the red carpet with its holographic appearance and metallic shine, showcasing its different hues and blues and pinks in the patterned cloth. The jacket itself was finished with sharp peak lapels and a two-button front with a flapped pocket either side. The welt pocket was angled yet quite hidden in the construction, whilst the rounded and padded shoulders were well tailored for a strong effect. His trousers were tapered and the hem finished at the ankle for a cool style, as the DJ's suit was styled with a white formal shirt and fastened with black dress studs down the centre.
