Nominated for Leading Actor for his role in the series 'I May Destroy You', actor Paapa Essiedu was looking sharp and relaxed in an orange two-piece Valentino suit with a light beige knitted V-neck and white roll neck. With relaxed shoulders, they are made to look more structured with a low collar and sharp peak lapels. No buttons are included down the centre front, leaving the jacket unfastened to reveal the knit underneath and the jacket's curved hem. Two flapped pockets and the welt pocket feature on the front as classic tailoring details whilst a centre crease on the trousers highlight the sartorial finish that Paapa Essiedu conveys at the BAFTAs this year.
Wearing a custom blue two-piece S.S Daley suit, 'The Crown' actor Josh O'Connor was nominated for Leading Actor in the Netflix series. The jacket is tailored to the waist as the jacket is fastened through the 6-button front, each button decorated. The double-breasted jacket style is complimented with peak lapels shown in a subtle manner as the white shirt collar layers over the top, edged in black stitching. Two thin flapped pockets sit below the waist as the pleated trousers include the centre crease to define the relaxed fit. Also worn with a blue knitted V-neck sleeveless jumper, it was a relaxed finish for Josh O'Connor's ensemble.
Actor Shaun Parkes was looking cool in the evening sunshine on the red carpet wearing a stone-coloured Ferragamo suit, as he was nominated for Leading Actor in the BBC series 'Small Axe'. The jacket included a thin shawl collar leading down into a contrast white edge on the centre front extra defined through the fastening. The contrasting white facing is matched by the thin and rounded double jet pockets below the waist, whilst his trousers are a straight leg shape designed to sit just on top of his shoes. Worn with a white buttoned shirt and a brown bow tie to pair lovely with his choice of watch, Shaun Parkes' summer evening attire was very nice indeed.
'Sex Education' star Ncuti Gatwa attended the BAFTA TV Awards wearing a tailored JW Anderson ensemble as he was nominated for Male Performance in a Comedy Programme for his role in the show. Seen above talking to AJ Odudu, his black dinner suit featured a satin black ribbon belt around the waist to tie the jacket and use as an extra fastening, as the jacket's top button is fastened. Contrasting satin notch lapels outline the open collar of his white shirt, styled with a gold pendant necklace to accentuate the neckline. The classic details of a welt and flapped pockets are also involved in the jacket as the trousers too are a relaxed shape just sitting below the top of his shoes: an overall casual and modern twist to Ncuti Gatwa's dinner suit.
Actor Ben Miller was one of the celebrities to present an award at the event in London and doing so, opted for a traditional dark brown velvet jacket with contrasting black peak lapels paired well with his black bow tie and fitted suit trousers. The peak lapels define the padded shoulders of the jacket more, providing the actor with a strong shoulder line made almost elegant through the choice of velvet attire. Two flapped pockets are situated on the hip with the traditional welt pocket on the chest, not accessorised with a pocket square. The dinner jacket's traditional single-button fastening fits the jacket over a white dinner shirt as Ben Miller's attire is an example of the classic and timeless velvet choice.
Wearing a cream two-piece dinner suit from Cifonelli, actor Toby-Alexander Smith was nominated for Must-See Moment for a scene in the soap drama Eastenders. Worn over the top of a white dress shirt with black dress studs and accompanying black bow tie, the jacket included peak lapels and the traditional single-button fastening. Two flapped pockets are situated low on the jacket as the shirt sleeves are positioned just below the jacket cuff. The jacket hem is curved for a softer finish as the actor's trousers are a straight leg cut with the centre crease visible for that sharp finish. With the hem sitting just on the black shoes, Toby-Alexander Smith's dinner suit stood out on the red carpet as a nice summer evening ensemble.
Actor Malachi Kirby was a winner at the awards ceremony as he took home Supporting Actor for his role in the series 'Small Axe'. He looked dapper in a two-piece navy blue Prada suit, with the jacket cut in the double-breasted style fastened high up the chest to create a smaller neckline. The short peak lapels are noticed further through the crisp white fastened shirt with its collar tucked underneath. The lapel pin is a nice subtle choice of accessory for this attire, as the actor poses with his hand tucked into the front trouser pocket of which they are designed in a straight leg. The centre crease is mirrored with the cool styling of a little crease near above the hem to ensure his polished shoes are noticed too - an effortless, tailored look for Malachi Kirby.
Nominated for Supporting Actor for his role in the series 'Small Axe', actor Micheal Ward still showed his dapper style despite not being able to attend the ceremony, wearing a dark blue Louis Vuitton suit with matching shirt. The shirt itself features a small round edge collar decorated with a silver trim as the buttons (except the collar button) are hidden in the covered button placket. The suit's fabric itself has the symbols/design commonly and famously known within the Louis Vuitton brand, with the welt pocket featuring intricate monogramming of the actor's initials. Details of the suit include rounded peak lapels, double jet pockets, a 2-button front fastening, 3-button jacket cuffs and fitted trousers with a subtle centre crease. As many celebrities have done at award ceremonies recently, they haven't let the notion of attending via video stop their sharp, clean looks - and Micheal Ward certainly did not disappoint.
Musician Alexis Ffrench was one of the musical performers of the event, and for it, looked very sharp in a Joshua Kane three-piece jacquard suit. The black jacket features the classic three pockets on the front - two flapped and the welt pocket - a single-button fastening and shawl collar for the dinner suit ensemble. With also a 4-button cuff on the jacket, his matching trousers were a tailored fit with pockets on the front and the centre crease to define the sharpness of his attire. The accompanying red jacquard waistcoat is double-breasted, fastened high on the chest and also a statement feature. His matching felt fedora brings the statement look together nicely as an accessory, a great look for Alexis Ffrench.
